Chiranthi Wijesundara is a Senior Librarian at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She holds a PhD in Informatics and an MSc in Library, Information and Media Studies from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. Prior to her postgraduate studies abroad, she earned a BA in Archaeology and an MSc in Geo-Information from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Dr. Wijesundara is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) and the Geo-Information Society of Sri Lanka (GISSL). She currently serves as the Programme Coordinator of the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) programme and as a Visiting Lecturer at the National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS), University of Colombo. Her scholarly contributions reflect research interests in metadata modelling for digital archives, metadata aggregation, heritage informatics, geoinformatics, and data standards. In addition, she has received several awards and fellowships in the field of Library and Information Science and is actively involved in national and international projects.
