    Julaine Clunis is an Assistant Professor in the STEMPS/Library and Information Studies Department at Old Dominion University. She holds a Ph.D. from the iSchool at Kent State University. Her research interests span knowledge organization, health informatics, ontologies, the semantic web, linked data, metadata, data curation, cultural heritage informatics, and knowledge representation. Her work focuses on tackling the challenges and opportunities in information access, data harmonization, and interoperability, with a particular emphasis on applying knowledge organization standards and practices in diverse contexts. She is a recipient of the 2019 and 2020 LIS Education and Data Science for the National Digital Platform (LEADS-4-NDP) and the 2021 Beta Phi Mu Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including ASIS&T and ISKO, where she engages in advancing the field of information science.
