Maliheh Dorkhosh holds a PhD in Library and Information Science and is Deputy for Policy-Making of Scientific Resources at the Central Library and Documentation Center, University of Tehran, Iran. Her expertise encompasses metadata, knowledge organization, conceptual modeling, ontologies, and descriptive standards.

She has authored books and research articles in these areas and led professional projects on library systems and metadata standards. She teaches courses on knowledge organization and metadata and conducts specialized workshops. She is a member of ISKO and serves as a reviewer for scientific journals.
