Shuheng Wu is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College. She earned her Ph.D. in Information Studies from the School of Information at Florida State University and her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of knowledge organization (KO) and sociotechnical systems, with a focus on data curation and the development, evaluation, and enhancement of KO systems. Her current research examines bibliographic enhancement metadata for academic library catalogs and explores New Yorkers' information quality requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At QueensCollege, she teaches several courses, including The Technology of Information, Information Organization, Advanced Subject Cataloging and Classification, Data Curation, and Indexing and Abstracting. In recognition of her dedication to teaching, she received the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching from Queens College in 2019.
