Scope & Objectives
TG1 focuses on metadata professional development through organizing webinars, tutorials, and training activities. The task group aims to educate and inform users about current developments and technologies for metadata, reaching audiences from newcomers to experts, including teachers of metadata in both academic and professional settings.
2025 Activities & Reports
TG1 has maintained an active program of webinars and tutorials, now in its fifth consecutive year. Key activities in 2025 include:
- DCMI & ASIS&T Joint Webinars: Continued the successful joint webinar series with ASIS&T, bringing together metadata professionals and information scientists.
- Dublin Core Academy: Ongoing involvement with the Dublin Core Academy, providing structured educational resources for metadata learners.
- ISKO España-Portugal Conference: Presented a conference paper on metadata competencies at the ISKO España-Portugal conference, contributing to the scholarly discourse on metadata professional development.
