Scope & Objectives

TG3 monitors and reports on updates to metadata standards and revisions. The group tracks new standards, notable developments, and changes to existing standards across the metadata landscape, keeping the community informed of the latest developments.

TG3 maintained and expanded its metadata standards tracking resources in 2025:

Metadata Standards Webpage: Continued development and maintenance of the metadata standards webpage at nkos.dublincore.org/Metadata-standards.html, which is organized into three key sections:
- New & Notable Developments: Tracking emerging metadata standards and significant changes to existing ones.
- AI Standards & Guidelines: A dedicated section covering the growing area of AI-related standards and guidelines relevant to metadata practice.
- Current Standards: A comprehensive reference for established metadata standards currently in use.
