Scope & Objectives
TG6 was established in 2025 with the mission to expand DCMI outreach in the Asia/Pacific region. The group's objectives include:
- Promoting inclusive metadata education across the Asia/Pacific region
- Organizing virtual and in-person events to engage regional communities
- Building capacity for metadata practice and education in the region
- Facilitating knowledge exchange between Asia/Pacific institutions and the broader DCMI community
2025 Activities & Reports
TG6 was established in 2025 and has been working to build a foundation for regional engagement:
- Group Formation: Assembled a diverse team of members from across the Asia/Pacific region, including representatives from New Zealand, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, and India.
- Mission Development: Defined the group's mission and objectives, focusing on expanding outreach and fostering inclusive metadata education.
- Event Planning: Began planning virtual and in-person events to engage metadata professionals and educators in the Asia/Pacific region.
- Capacity Building: Initiated efforts to build metadata education capacity across the region through partnerships and collaborative activities.
