Scope & Objectives
TG4 focuses on developing and disseminating best practices for metadata creation and management. The group organizes training programs, creates educational resources, and fosters collaborative research to improve metadata practices across institutions and regions.
2025 Activities & Reports
TG4 delivered a diverse program of training and research activities in 2025:
- Dublin Core Training Programs: Continued delivering training programs on Dublin Core metadata, reaching metadata practitioners across multiple regions.
- Fundamentals of Metadata Webinar: Organized and delivered a webinar on the fundamentals of metadata, providing foundational education for newcomers to the field.
- Collaborative Research with University of Colombo: Conducted collaborative research activities with the University of Colombo, focusing on metadata practices in the Sri Lankan context.
- Engagement with National Libraries: Worked with national libraries to promote best practices in metadata creation and management.
- DCMI 2025 Best Practices Session: Organized a dedicated best practices session at the DCMI 2025 conference.
- 2025 Sri Lanka Webinars: Delivered a series of webinars focused on metadata education and best practices for the Sri Lankan library and information science community.
